Haven't touched this knife in months. When I finally decide to pick it up and use it this happens

I know, the delica is the last knife you should use to pry with, and I should've used something else to get that staple from the 4x4. Oops! On the bright side, i guess I'm gonna be grinding it to a wharncliffe soon!

I think I'd make it a drop point, but wharncliff could be interesting, too.

I've seen some that turned it into a sheepsfoot-style tip, which I thought looked pretty nice.

You could also grind the spine at a steeper angle to meet the edge and create a new point.

Or grind the edge up sharply to meet the spine creating a tanto point.

Or ...

Thanks for the input guys/gals. I drew it out with sharpie and think I'm gonna go wharncliffe/sheepsfoot with it. That Kahr Arms delica is interesting, though I might make mine a little more subtle than that.

Lesson learned the hard way Lycosa...
I've had a history using knives to pry with, just usually Emerson knives. The swedge on my mini roadhouse does a great job opening paint cans!:D

Awesome, man! Keep us updated.

I'm curious as to how this one turns out.

Ouch... Happy grinding.

This reinforces for me exactly why I love having a cheap blade on hand alongside a nicer one... Like my Schrade/Blur work pair, I'll slice and dice and cut most things that need cutting with the Blur, but any jobs with a higher risk of damage; ie. staples or ceramics present, prying required, workin above a slurry or wax tank where it may just fall in and be lost forever, the Schrade cuts well enough for any task as well but would be much less heart breaking to break and much cheaper to replace.

My dad told me not to use a knife to pry things with.

been thinking about gifting a BM 940 to my grandson and the first thing i will tell him is DON'T USE THIS KNIFE AS A PRY BAR".
well anyway you can try out your skills at re-profilling the blade.
