I am very interested in the new Delica G10. One of the things I really like about the D4 is the thicker tip. I've used and abused mine for about 2 years now with no problem. With the new Delica G10 having a flat grind blade I am concern about the durability of the blade. Anybody see one of these yet? What is your opinion on the blade durability.

Good question. I just received a G10 handled Endura with a flat grind and I'm surprised at how thin the tip is. It's thinner than the tip on my Dragonfly! I like to use my knives and I have to admit, I'm afraid to use this one.

I'm thinking I'd be better off with the Endura in ZDP-189 with the FRN handle.

its a sweet knife for sure, its one of thise knives i just keep looking at again and again !
the tip is thiner but its a slicer so it should really make no difference, if you dont pry with the tip i cant see there being any problems.
iv not actually used mine at all as yet, im still enjoyiong my zdp D4 too much :D:thumbup:

Thin tip, full flat ground blade, G-10? Sounds like a great knife! I got to get me one! There are plenty of blunt tipped 1/4" thick hollow ground knives for those that like that sort of thing. Leave it to Spyderco to make a knife for knife lovers.

If you use your knife as a prybar, go get a prybar. When you try to make a knife unbreakable, you make it unusable.

Nope. I don't use my knife as a prybar. I do want it to be durable like my original Delica. That is why I started this thread.

It is thinner yes. I don't think it is so thin that it will break by cutting with it but then I have never broke the tip off a knife and wished my E4 had a finer tip like my E3's. G10 Endura is so perfect to me that I am thinking of sending a couple of my E4s to Krein to have him flat grind them for some lightweight slicers.
If you "use and abuse" a knife like you said it might not be for you.
