Delica or Endura i really cant choose, witch is better? Is there a real major difference or is it just shape and size?

I like the Delica more personally. Not sure why but I have never been to excited over the Endura's since they started making the Endura 4's....

I've held both, but they were the wave version. I personally liked the Delica more, but I am not sure exactly why. It's not because the endura was too big for me, I'm 6'5" so my hands are fairly large and I usually like the bigger knives.

I have both - though rarely use of carry them to be honest - partially because of the laws here. While the same basic design but different. The endura blades is still only about the length of a steak knife and a nice working knife - but takes over a pocket. The delica is much more pocket friendly.

up to you where you want the balance

I prefer the Endura myself, I find the blade on Delica a bit on the small side
if you prefer cutting an apple in half with a single cut or cutting a loaf of bread without having to circle around the bread ;), I'd say get the Endura

Out of the Delica and Endura I prefer the Delica as it's smaller and a bit more pocketable in an EDC role.
If I was going for a larger knife there are a few I would choose before the Endura but it's still by no means a bad knife.

I have both and for me the Delica would be the better choice.

The Endura is a good knife and I do carry one daily but the laws in my area do not restrict me to a 3" blade. Your laws might be different.

As well, Delicas don't seem to spook the critters as much if you have to use a knife for EDC tasks like opening parcels, peeling fruit and what have you. I've elicited more than one raised eyebrow when I used an Endura to cut the box off a new refrigerator. Food for thought.

On the other hand, I spent the whole day using a Delica to open boxes of food and canned milk at a local feeding program and no one freaked.

I had a delica v4 with SS handles. I loved that knife, but brought it back and got something more useful for me. I had just been itching for a spyderco. I then could not stop thinking about the knife and saw the spyderco caly 3 in cf with zdp189 on sale for almost half off brand new. So i got that as my delica replacement. The only differences between the delica and endura is the delica is smaller (a more useful size to me, by no means tiny) than the endura is a bigger blade/handle.

Different folks, different strokes. That is why Spyderco makes both I am guessing. It would be interesting to know (if anyone actually knows) if one or the other actually sells better. I am guessing that it is about 50/50.

The first time out, I bought both. Handling and possibly carrying/using both is the only way to really know which you will prefer. Some guys do not have a preference and use both based on the situation.

I like the Delica, it's more EDC friendly to me. I own both in FFG but don't really carry them because I like my CF Stretch to much to not carry that.

I second that - go off of the board for the Stretch.

I 3rd this option. You will never look at a folder the same way after using a ZDP stretch. If you cannot swing this option, then get yourself a nice colored FFG Endura. They are very nice and the color makes them unique in their own right.
Can't go wrong wither way.

guys, he isn't asking about a stretch. He only wants to know the differences between a delica and endura not which spyderco out of their line up he should buy.

on topic: I've only had an endura 4 and it was my first spyderco. I carried it for a while and it arried just fine. It didn't seem too large at all and everything about the knife is real nice for the price which of course carries over to the delica.

If it had to do it over again, I'd probably go with the delica because I really don't need such a large knife for edc. You might want to pick up a ffg version; I'm not a fan of saber grinds.

@Heiheit - It's cool, we know, just offering up opinions and options. maybe the OP hasn't seen the Stretch.
