Delica or Endura?

having used both, I would go for the Delica for urban carry, and the Endura for outdoor/travel/backcountry use. The 3 inch Delica is enough for all urban use and SD too (the Gunting has only a 3inch blade as well). The Endura's 4 inch blade is too big for urban use w/o scaring sheeples (my experience).

Oh, and VG10 of course!
 
What about a Clipit Police or a Military Model? What is the difference between an Endura and an Endura II ? I personally think you should buy the Salsa Titanium or if you really like VG-10,get the Bob Lum Chinese Folder

The Endura is the FRN model whereas the SS model is designated the Endura II. This is also true in the Delica line.
 
Do any of them come with USA stamped on the blade? All the one's I have seen have been japan... just checkin because i'll pick one up if its american made at that price! :cool:
 
I have both an Endura and a Delica (both FRN PE). The Delica seems
more suited to EDC because it doesn't scare people, as I've
noticed that the Endura sometimes does.

You might want to also consider a Native III, which is also
VG-10, Delica sized, but with a thicker handle and choil for
your index finger (which the Delica doesn't have). I just
got one on Tuesday, and I absolutely love it - it's my new
EDC.

If ya wanna scare some sheeple, get a fully-serrated stainless Police model...Mine makes 'em run-away like little mice from a killer cat.:D.
 
glockman, hehe, I have alot cats too so I see em' go after little mice, rats, birds and other small animals.
 
Get the Endura. Its the same knife but bigger. If the law isnt against you, why not carry the bigger one? Look at reputable dealers on eBay for the best prices.
 
I have both in PE FRN. I prefer the Endura because of the longer blade, but I carry the Delica out of area because of varying laws. Please do not take offense folks, but sheeple are those who modify their behavior because the lambs MIGHT mew. Sure, I dress and act appropriately as the situation demands, but I will not carry a smaller knife or gun unless I want to. Damn their delicate sensibilities, full steam ahead.
 
Scaring folks is what will make our hobby like the gun laws... they look scary, you cant have it :eek:
 
I disagree Hotrod. People who let others intimidate them are the reason oppressive laws have taken over the books. You not only have to defend your rights, you have to exercise them in order to retain them. Rights are like muscles, use 'em or lose 'em. You carry a Vic Classic if you want to, or if you are afraid of lambs. I will not alter my behavior nor waive my rights because of another's fears. Those who cave in deserve to be buried. Will you next stop eating meat because PETA frowns on it? Will you give up hunting and fishing? Will you stop having intercourse because the vagitarians are against it? Will you stop letting other people run your life? I don't mean to hijack this thread, so I'll end it here, but think about what you say and extrapolate it into your daily life. I recommend the Endura over the Delica for most purposes, but both are excellent knives and great value.
 
All Delica's and Endura's are japanese made. In fact I believe that all Spyderco's with VG-10 are made in Japan ( It's a japanese steel.) and all Spyderco's with CPMS30V are made in America ( It's an American steel.)

I'm going to order it tonight, which ever one is reccomended the most after this post and when I'm going to buy it, will be the one! :)
 
Just bought a VG-10 PE Delica today, as a cheap work beater... it will be the lender, leaving my millie, fb03 and endura for my own use.

I can get a side by side pic of the 2 if you want still. have to email it b/c I only have an anglefire page and I can't link to it.
 
Just going to say also, the delica is what got me started on spydies. gave it to my buddy back in august 02 as repayment for loaned cash... went just about a year without one, but ran 3 yrs on that 1st one and it was still in decent shape(very slight give in the lock, no wobble, small amount of tip broken and fixed) and no signs of quitting.

I went from aug 99 to spring 01 with just the delica, then started the buying. at either 14 or 15 now, another 2 enroute(1 I know of, other should be soon if it's not already)... I've given a few as gifts too, bought over 20 since I started as well as 2 303mf and a 204.

Got the SE ATS-55 endura as a gift for christmas from a well known forumite, Allen Treat. If I'm wearing clothes, it's on me 24/7. My only other 24/7 carry is the SS dragonfly in a neck rig... other than in the shower it's on me. have a feeling the delica will be a 24/7 carry as it's small enough to carry/use pretty much anywhere that I don't want a stampede from one of my 4"...

The delica was on me 24/7 throughout highschool, even with the zero tolerance &#115hit, IWB carry is easy.
 
Thanks Vampyre, I'm still trying to decide between the two. I already have some smaller (3" bladed folders) so its time for a 4" blaed folder other then my well prohibited ones and my Buck hunter ;)

If I really like the Endura (or Delica... which I probably will) I'll get the other one :)
