I'm looking for gifts for my little bro. I've gotten him a Victorinox SAK, forget which model, he promptly lost that. A Buck Cadet chinese made, he has been able to keep track of that. A few junkers, some other stuff. Now, I'm looking for, among other things, a really good one handed opener for him. I got him a Benchmade 556 mini Grip, which he wanted, but he also wanted a Delica. So, I figure the 556 for his b-day, and the Delica for Christmas. Just on the odd glance, I noticed that Natives are cheaper at MD Walmarts than at PA Walmarts, 39 and change as opposed to 42 and change. I prefer the Native design myself, he used one of mine before I sold it. Anyway, he likes both after I brought the Native up to him (I'll go broke:D ). Now, I am getting a camp knife for him, but I don't know whether or not I should get him the Delica. He is pretty well versed in what he can and cannot do. He sliced a big hunk of the pad off his fingernail with his Cadet last year, which freaked him out a little, but now he is quite comfortable with knives, and gives them much more respect. The Native has a good choil and good protection, the Delica 4 gives him some good protection too. I have asked him which one he wants, and he can't decide. I can't afford to get him both right now, with the purchase of the 556. I do however want him to have the best knife. Thats why its so damn hard with both of these. He is about 13, will only use these at home, respects sharp things, knows what not to do with these, and realizes that I will be watching him when he uses them. My father has about two to three, a little more maybe, acres of woods, with a stream, and about 5 to 6 acres of fields. I had a great time with only a small slipjoint when I was his age, but he likes the modern designs too. I am in a real quandary. Help a brother out...

I have both and would get him a waved D4. The Native is a great knife but the D is better in different grips plus it has the wave and a thicker stronger blade.

Both knives would be good choices, but because I am biased, I would go with the Native III.

I voted for the Native, but the Centofante 4 is really an excellent knife. It's in the ballpark pricewise. Check one out if you have a chance–it's got a superb blade!

I like Native much more. I think ergos, look and blade are much better. I love finger choil

Native fits my hands better than the Delica and the out of box blade geometry seems to cut and poke a little better.
