Delica or Stretch II?

Sure wish they offered the VG10 Stretch in the variety of colors like they do the Delica and Endura, but that is a very minor issue.
You are definitely not alone in that. I'd be in for brown, grey, and green. Would also be happy to see a tan like the OIF/OEF Natives, a dark bright blue like the 2003 BF Spyderhawk and Spyderco Forum Native III, and white.

While we're at it, here's to wishing they make G10 versions in ZDP. Wooden scales, carbon fiber again...The more the merrier.

The grey Stretch in SB is in the works. Another great steel/FRN color to have.

Well, maybe if we can generate enough noise Spyderco will listen and start offering some colors! Doesn't seem that it would be too hard or expensive to do as the mold wouldn't have to be changed or anything, but there must be a reason.
I'd love to see them bring back the blue or a grey but that's just me. An orange would be nice too!

At street prices, the Delica is less expensive, and an iconic knife. But, everything The Deacon pointed out is true. I am also a Stretch 'fanboy'.

I vote Stretch too. The blade:handle ratio is truly impressive...especially for a Spyderco which as a brand tends to have lesser blade:handle ratios. Plus the choil is a winner for me. Until the Delica gets a choil I probably won't own one (I own a Byrd Meadowlark2 instead b/c it does have a choil).

You are aware of the gray Super Blue coming out soon right? I want another CF to be released personally.

I've heard persistent rumors of one, although it doesn't appear in the Sprint section of either the 2013 catalog or the 2013 mid-year supplement. While I have no interest in carrying a non-stainless knife, assuming it materializes, I'll get one, and another VG-10 Stretch, and do a blade swap. May get a second for the collection as well.

No Pic yet, but I assume this is concrete enough. http://www.gpknives.com/spydercostretchgraysuperbluesprintrun.html

I think all the FRN-handled models should come in all sorts of colors. Might get the Stretch some more attention too if it has more eye-catching colors. For some reason a lot of people only talk about Delica/Endura when discussing lightweight Spyderco EDC blades and the Stretch is often left out. Oh well, more Stretches for me. :)

Yep, that elevates it above the mere rumor stage. Looks like one of these days I'll be voiding the warranties on a couple knives and building a VG-10 FrankenStretch with grey FRN scales. :)

I know the Gray PM2 CTS-20CP got dirty easily, but I am guessing that the gray FRN might stay cleaner. What do you think?

May depend a bit on the shade of grey, but I can't recall ever having to scrub the handle of the grey Calypso Jr I that I carried for a while before the Stretch came out. If I was still working on old cars and racing bikes it might be a different story, but I haven't done either for 20 years so I stay pretty clean these days. Not to mention that, with a decently stainless steel like VG-10, I wouldn't hesitate to take a nail brush and Lava to it if it did get dirty. Heck, if Spyderco offered the VG-10 Stretch with a white FRN handle I'd carry one.

EDITED TO ADD:
Hard to tell from the online catalog illustrations, but I'm wondering if it's the same grey currently available on VG-10 FFG Delicas and Enduras. If so, folks who carry one of them may have some input regarding how easy or difficult they are to keep clean.

I need to pick up a Stretch. I really love the choil on it. I really wish the Delica and Endura had one. But whatever, not that big of a deal.

Well the vote is pretty strong for the Stretch and I imagine eventually I will get a Delica anyway, so am planning to order a Stretch soon.
I have family coming over to this side of the world from the States and they can bring it over so I don't have to worry about getting the knife stolen going through customs.
Now just the dreaded waiting game!
Thanks to all for the replies and comments, and especially the comparison pics! That is what really sold the Stretch to me. I always pictured the Stretch as being a good bit bigger.
Got to love bladeforums!

Congrats on your decision, and please let us know your impressions when you get it!

Thanks Sterculius! Be prepared for quite a delay though as I won't be able to have it in hand till around October. (My mother in law will bring it over when she comes to the other side of the world for a visit) I have a month with a few extra funds so am trying to take advantage of it even though it will not be brought over here till much later.
You can add it to your list of what to be thankful for that most likely you can order something off the internet and have it delivered to you in a couple days! Living in Indonesia for the foreseeable future leaves a little to be desired when it comes to receiving orders quickly.
But, we love the culture, the people, and what we do so no complaints here!:) I have a few other spydies to play with for the time being.
