Delica s30v

I bought both S30 Delicas and really like the steel upgrade. The S30 wharncliffe Delica is a sweet knife too. Love the orange.

I have this same knife and my S30V is developing a patina!?!? I’ll try and post a pic

I picked up the S30V Delica a few weeks back. Only good things to say about it. Glad I waited for my first Delica to be this model. Like the handle colours very much.

Uh oh, not cool. I hope not as I've got one on the way. I know some people prefer a Patina on their blades but I don't.

I don’t mind a patina just don’t think that S30V should be really staining at all. Oh well no big deal

mwramos76 mwramos76 what sort of climate do you live in and how do you store, maintain, and clean the knife? I don't know how corrosion resistant S30V is compared to say VG-10 but I wouldn't expect a patina unless the climate and maintenance/storage made for a recipe to enable the corrosion/patina to occur. I apply oil to the blades and pivots of all my knives regardless of how corrosion resistant the steel is.

I was looking around and it seems S30V can stain but overall its supposed to be pretty stain resistant. Thats kind of a bummer though. I'm not an expert about steel characteristics but maybe someone who knows more can weigh in.

I live in south Texas which can be rather humid at times. The knife is generally cleaned with warm water and a good wipe down. Stored in a drawer when not in use.

mwramos76 mwramos76 only thing I can suggest is to put a light coat of oil, ie mineral oil, to help prevent rusting but still seems like it is rusting before it should.
