Delrin is softer than micarta. We have used it on production lines to prevent marring the threads on converter studs. It will scratch easily and you can scrape pieces of it off pretty easily. It will also deform quite a bit if hit with a hard edge. It has it's uses due to the self lubricating nature, but I wouldn't use it as handle material.
