I am in the mood for a large "over built" folder for EDC & just to add to my collection I ran across the Demko AD15 , they look very cool just wanted to know what those who have them like /dislike about them if anything??

thanks much...Jay

Your not likely to find much about it here on the Traditional Forum, it's a pretty modern knife. Might want to try the General Forum.

thanks.....your post might be a sign that I should stick to my medium case stockman...LOL
Nothing wrong with modern knives though... a lot of us still like them.
But most of us are pretty traditional when it comes to traditionals. Lol
If you're looking for a heavier modern/traditional, you should check out the Lionsteel offerings from Collector Knives.

again thanks...my taste run from busse terror monkey & buck 124 to case stockman and a para 2 from spyderco. I will check out lionsteel

I'll move this to General Knife Discussion.

I'll say the demko ad15 would be a fantastic ambidextrous knife and now it's cousin the cold steel ad15 should fit a lot of users needs. I am eyeballing the CS for sure.

It’s fantastic. Big blade, but thin behind the edge. Locks up with an loud “thwack”. Hidden forward finger choil. It carries smaller than it would first appear. Just a great knife. I have no complaints about it.

Great knife! Carry mine often.

Anyone else looking forward to the Cold Steel version of this knife? It's about time we get a production version of this locking mechanism IMO.
I am, despite owning the custom. It'll be interesting to see how CS carries it out.

Yup.

One thing I noticed in the pics of the CS version, which I also notice in the above pic, is how the blade "tang" protrudes into the finger groove a bit when open. Any comfort issues?

I noticed that too, since it's round I doubt it will be a problem and I really want to find out so they need to get it done and in my mailbox.

Yup. Looks to be quite affordable and if it's well done I could see myself carrying it a lot.

The locking mechanism is used on may CS knives.

I have and use 3 of the trial lock folders from CS. No AD10 or production version of Demko's custom.

CS does a bang up job with the triad lock.

I've not met one I did not enjoy. Easy to use ome handed. Drops closed on my examples. Some find the spring tension too much. I've heard the customs are lighter and smoother than the productions.

He is referring to the Cold Steel version of the AD15, which has the Scoprion Lock, not Tri-Ad.

That almost dissuaded my from getting the AD15. However it's non obtrusive nor uncomfortable. You do feel it, but it's a non-issue for me.
