Demko Knives 12 Days of Christmas Sale

Not so much a dislike, just not my favorite composite. And it does come down to how it feels. I know it's sturdy stuff, don't mind that it flexes (but prefer full liners), and wouldn't complain if it was the only option. But if there's a choice, I'll go for the other material.

Example is the AD20.5 in natural G10 I just bought. Feels fantastic in hand. Fits good still with gloves on. Can grivory come translucent? Someday I'll disassemble and hit the frame with glow-in-the-dark paint, because I'm weird like that, and it'll be cool.

A question for everyone here. Why the dislike of Grivory scales?
My daily carry is an AD20 broad clip with grey Grivory and it has been excellent. It was lasered camo though….View attachment 3048041
im good with them. I like the g10 a bit better though, and price point is pretty close...within 50 bucks, which could be lot of money but we are in the 400s range...so im struggling to justify one just cause.....

Liar. Even though we can afford them, we're always looking for a good deal. (It's the lure and joy of the hunt.) 🤣 🍺

(Sotto voce: "As our intrepid hunter sneaks up upon the unsuspecting and rarely found titanium whale shark, a sudden breeze alerts his prey...and just like that, it is gone.")

Grivory is a "less expensive" material but it does have a tendency to feel "cheap" even though it is probably one of the more durable materials for scales out there! Benchmade gets a bad wrap for all the Grivory they use but honestly, you could run a Grivory knife over with a truck and it would probably be fine! I prefer heavy knives so I lean more towards Titanium. Even aluminum scals can feel 'cheap' to me. But like I said, it's just a perception thing...I have no doubt that Grivory scales will hold up well and always get the job done!

Thank everyone for sharing their thoughts on Grivory. Definitely all valid considerations and there certainly isn’t a right or wrong opinion. I guess I will remain the “odd man out” and hang onto my like of Grivory.

Hopefully everyone is finding things the like for our 12 Days of Christmas sale.

DLT has some AD20S's in sharks foot. I wasn't looking to buy one, but being a slim and having the swedge, I couldn't buy fast enough. It's my first sharks foot, so im looking forward to trying it out. I always passed them by because the blade looked like it could be a bit longer. I never understood why it's made short.

I agree with the previous statement of “looks cheap feels cheap”
The oval in the middle looks unfinished to my eye.
That camo finish does look interesting tho

Picked up an AD 20.5 in d2 with cf scales during the sale. All I can say is I am beyond glad I did!!! Sad now I waited so long!

The lock is freaking genius and bank vault solid. It’s kicked out everything else this last week and I admire how solid and thin it is. Cuts like a laser and it’s seen decent use with a holiday week of tasks.

Demko thank you for making such a fantastic knife and the amazing sale to get this one!!

Now I’m saving up my money to get a g10 s35 clip point next, can’t wait!

tell us about this rhino lock...I missed the ad10 in this drop...but i was looking at the knife......looks good...and thought wow they got it as a tri-ad...awesome. then read the description and saw this lock is something new, being called the rhino lock

Arrived today. Typically prefer some texture over smooth, but really like it. Have wanted this blade shape and a “big pivot” 20.5, so this checks both boxes.

Rock solid lockup as expected, but the action isn’t quite as smooth as my other 20.5 and 20S. Will disassemble at some point and see what I can see.

^Bit of an update. Took it apart, wiped it all down, put it back together, and tuned the pivot to my liking. The action in terms of the bearings is fine. What I'm experiencing has to do with the lock bar riding on the blade tang while opening/closing. Can't see anything, but the tang must not be as smooth as it should be, so can feel the "bumps". May smooth out with use, but not really worried about it, as it still opens and closes fine.
