Demko Knives Is Here On Blade Forums!

The larger line of Taiwan fixed blades have my attention for sure. This company appears to be a source of the types of knives we Old Steel enthusiasts like.

I haven’t seen any hollow grinds yet, but consider this my official request for some. I’ve bought so many hollow ground CS knives because the excellent Taiwanese HT combined with the thin behind the edge of a hollow grind makes an excellent cutting tool. I won’t be buying any of the 4034 unless it’s a serrated model. For my uses, it’s noticeably inferior to Taiwanese AUS8 in performance. The 80CrV2, I have no experience with. I’m hoping it’s a good choice.

The FreeReign knives are excellent fixed blades. We have runs of Magnacut occasionally but they sellout fast.

I’ll pass along the request for hollow grinds.

80CrV2 is a very tough and durable steel with a good track record of performance. The Armiger 4’s are selling really well.

Hello Mike. Just picked up the Freereign. Love it. Do you have some hints or suggestions on how to loosen up the grip the sheath has on the knife? Can the nylon isert be heated? Spacers ? What's the answer here? Thanks.

Hello bootzon,

Sorry for the late reply. Things are hectic getting ready for Blade Show.
We do not recommend any type of modification to any of our knives whether it’s a fixed blade or folder.
I would suggest this type of grip when removing the blade and use the thumb to push against the sheath. I hope this helps.

yep, that's how I do it. works well. strong enough to remove and a controlled removal, which I prefer over a hard random yank and hope it doesn't hit anything on the way out, it's not supposed to.....

Mike, thanks for taking the time to answer with a photo. I learned long ago to use my thumb as you show here. I'd still like to loosen it up a little. I completely understand you have to be careful to protect the company from people compromising your product with modifications and then blaming you. I was just hoping somebody has come up with a simple solution. I'll try one more... what about armor all on the nubs inside the sheath than makes contact with the knife handle. Has anyone tried that? Can anyone foresee a reason not to try it? Thanks so much. EDIT: wondering if Rain X might be better that Armor All??

On kydex holsters, I hit them very briefly back and forth with a heat gun. Then insert gun (or knife) multiple times to ensure proper fit, then let cool with knife or gun in place.

I've never ruined one doing it this way. (Or with the missus' hair dryer if the heat gun wasn't available.)
