can a soda can stove using the denaturated alchol be used inside a tent without any harmful effects ?

If you are talking about fumes im not sure but if you are worried about the flames i know that it doesnt spit or creat tall flames. But its best to raise it up.

NO! alky stoves use up oxygen quite quickly, and can be detrimental to any pets lying on the tent floor (dogs, cats) and people. I would highly recomend using a wind shield on the stove , and use it outdoors!

If your curious on to just how quickly a alky stove can create carbon monoxide, go inside you tent, fire it up and close the tent flap. Use a Carbon monoxide detector (strap it to your chest) and have someone outside ready to open the tent once it goes off.

Agreed. Another danger is the the flame can be very hard to see. I use HEET in the yellow bottle. I once tipped the the lit stove over and didn't notice that some of the HEET spilled on the wool blanket I was kneeling on. Couldn't see the flame. If you tip it over inside a tent, it will be hard to see where the flame is. I didn't notice anything until I saw the wool on my blanket melting in one spot.

I never use mine unless it's in the open just in case.

As someone who works for a tent manufacturer I would have to say that we would never recommend you use any flame inside a tent for any reason.

I made several of these for friends. One told me how his tipped over and spilled on a pair of gloves that were laying near. Couldn't see the flames but melted them pretty quick.

The firs harzard is high due to the invisibility of the flame and the fuels is hard to put out if it soaks into fabrics.

Maybe in the vestibule with the door open.

You weren't thinking of heating your tent with it were you?
