These guys know how to do a knife test! I purchased the Typhoon and I must say that it's one tough SOB. It's build much like a tank and would probably be comparable to some of the ZT offerings. The handle is a bit thicker than I prefer because that affects carry-ability. I think the Defender looks to have better proportions, but I tried the whole titanium to stainless lock interface and was not in love. If a future iteration of the defender comes out with a stainless lock interface similar to other Lion Steel offerings, I'll be all over that. Although that would start to fall into more direct competition with Lion Steel's own knives.... not sure if they would produce a knife under those circumstances.

Anyhow, I hope to get around to a Youtube review of the Typhoon in the next few weeks. Overall I'm impressed with the design and build quality. Just be ready for your thumb to take a beating if you play with the knife a bit, the liner lock is among the strongest I've ever encountered.
