i need to tell of my experience since i've been "living" in these forums for the last two weeks. all this available info is amazing and reassuring. i'm not the only nut out here!
i just rec'd my first sebenza(lrg, plain) yesterday.

i ordered it based on what i read here and from the pictures that were posted. some of the pics even showed the knife laid out in pieces(taken apart).
i was looking for a l/h model but wasn't really finding anything so i called chris reeve's office. julie gave me a few names so i called them. Dennis Wright had one that i "needed" and was very helpful and patient over the phone...he's in ca and i'm in fl. we agreed on a price, he said he would change the clip to the new style if it didn't already have it, and throw in the nylon horiz/vert sheath!!! sure there's a little profit in the price but he didn't have to do anything extra. i'm just another junkie on the phone wanting a knife for which there is a waiting list.
so, to make a short story long...i've called this man while he's trying to get ready for a show this week, overnighted my m/o, and to my delight he made time to overnight my new, large, plain sebenza overnight from him(yes, i paid the shipping. i just couldn't wait!lol)
what i've been able to read in the forums about this knife and how and who to do business with has been invaluable to me as there isn't too much knife-wise going on here in southwest florida.
thank you Dennis Wright!
also thank you to Harold Daniels( he too was helpful and patient with me over the phone) of miami for ordering my new small, plain sebenza. sure, i could've ordered direct from c/r but i'm still paying the same retail price and i get to help a knife guy.
i didn't think had that much to say...thanks for reading rob

robl,

Welcome!

You didn't do too bad running into Dennis for your first CRK buy! And don't assume that the dealers make that much on CRK. There seems to be a fairly tight profit margin...

c4, good point...i've got no idea and shouldn't assume. by the way, i've had my sebenza for 2 days and my thumb is quite sore. is that normal for a new owner? the lock is incredibly strong and i don't see how the metal could possibly lighten up in this lifetime.
