Dented INFI and Micarta...

I don't think that this small chip, dent, scuff, what have you would devalue this blade all that much. I assume that you wish to keep this as mint a possible for future resale. If it's going to become a user (which I recommend) I wouldn't worry at all. There's gonna be a lot of scuffs on it in time. However given that this is a HOGFSH over time the value will certainly increase as the Fusion line becomes harder to get, especially the fatties like this HOG. I've seen heavy users for sale in the past with major scuffing on the blade that have been sold for upwards of $650. If it really bothers you though contact the shop. I'm sure they'll do you right. I don't think you'll get anywhere with the Post Office.

Beat it and forget it!

That ding is not too bad...

I think anyone who wanted to buy it from you to actually use (maybe half the potential market) wouldn't care a bit.

Here's the reality -- If I were looking to get one to use, the only way that ding would push me away from your knife is IF: 1. someone else, with as good a reputation, 2. had the exact same knife in mint condition, 3. and at the same or lower price.

It still stinks, but I wouldn't sweat it if I were in your shoes...

These were packaged as well as anything from the BCS or Wauseon.
One end of the triangle priority box is crushed in...

I was thinking about that thread about how tough Micarta is.
Blow it up with liquid explosives and not look much worse than mine?
Ok maybe a little worse...

Scott's story is not very optimistic....
glad mine is cosmetic:D
Still....is it worth as much as it was before it was shipped to me? NO!
It was a collectors quality piece that could of been put in the safe to grow in value, only to be fondled with the shades drawn..
Like one of those fancy Italian bikes I have been reading about...

Unfortunately I am a city boy,
There are no trees in my yard...
Sometime this summer I will camp!!
Other than that I am waiting for someone to break in or a Zombie Attack...

Quit your belly aching and use it!;) :D

Thats what you should be doing......... but if your really worried about the finish just take the knife to a local body shop and ask them to match the color with some left over paint(primer by the looks of it). You can have them purposely wrinkle the paint and add some catalized clear into the mix and you should barely be able to see it;)

WTF ? I stunned that dented during shipping. I beat the hell out of my FBM and have not seen any damage. My advice.. use it and enjoy it..

I'm curious as hell how the dent got there. Forklift mishap? Stray bullet? I'm gonna have to be more careful next time I mail myself somewhere.

I suggest you just walk down the street hacking at any vegetation you run across. You'll get some looks, but no one will approach you.

Or you could just move.

How cruel! It is greatest punishment for any Busse Fans. Living in the city :(

The damage looks very very minor. If you want it as a looker then just send it back to the Shop and ask them to polish out the spine of that blade. I think it would add a nice custom touch to it. I am not too crazy about coatings but I suppose recoating may be another option.

But the best advice comes from those who tell you to beat the snot out of it.

Hey, it's just coating damage, so who cares. But they must have run that box over. :D

Now, if the knife had come to you as a folding HOFSH, I would have been pissed:eek:
