Deployment with a BK10?

I was an 11B in the 82nd Airborne and whenever we got shipped out we could take our own gear, including knives, but we usually mailed personal belongings back before hitting customs on our way out. Customs personnel were right up there with MP's for being the biggest pains in our asses. (No offense to anyone who was an MP or customs, their job just really made life suck sometimes.)

As far as specific knives, almost no one carried one. When you're lugging all of your gear on your back every ounce matters. If I had it to do over again I would definitely have packed a BK 16 instead of the SOG Pup I had. Best bang for your weight out there in my opinion.
