Words can not express the character of Deputy, a NC member and true Deputy Sheriff Supervisor from Catawba County NC. After he posted a 2 Hawk for sale, and my reply of "I WILL TAKE IT" . We determined that we lived < 40 miles apart. So we decided to meet face to face. I sent my payment paypal, as requested, loaded about 500 knives into the jeep and we spent about 90 mins. having the best time looking at and talking about knives. What a pleasure to meet someone who is professional, non confrontational, and who truly enjoys looking at knives. He was gracious in complementing each of my knives and when he did not know the knife, he admitted it, soaking in knowledge. I also learned a great deal about him and his passions, and he has inspired me to get to Blade this year. Our encounter reminded me why I ever picked up that Imperial 46 years ago, at the Waco Trade Lot in , Waco NC, Between Dallas, and Cherryville NC. Closed for nearly 35 years, and why I still open and close that old yellow beauty weekly. It 's people, not knives that make the journey worth taking, and guys like Deputy who make me stop and say Thanks, Jamie for your time and heart. rb black .

Thank you Treeshaker and it was a pleasure doing business with you. I look forward to doing more business with you in the future as well. Thanks for the kind words!

That is great you were able to have such a nice conversation/meeting with a LEO about knives. Unfortunately, most interactions with LEO's are during bad times, and the worst cops are usually the most memorable. I don't want to get off topic though. I need to start looking at the axe/hawk forum and learning a little about the 'good ones'.
Thanks for posting your experience, it's always good to hear about another member who will deal with you honestly.

With all those nice knives with you though, it was a good thing you didn't have anything he needed to "confiscate".;)

Why ? Because you get a free shot ? Glad you shared that with us, reminds me why I seldom sell or trade knives, IGNORE, thanks for the heads up on yourself. :thumbdn:

Sorry Jamie, you deserve better. Few people are forced to wear a bullet protective vest to work. I was honored to be with you. And will do it anytime. I too admired your knives, certainly the little beast you carry, wow ! And a special thanks to the Calif. maker who sent Jamie a beautiful pry tool. I will be ordering one soon.

Just so it's clear.
I meant no disrespect towards him or anyone else. My Dad and Uncle are both retired police officers and my Bachelors is in Criminal Justice. The 'confiscate' comment was just a joke, I thought the 'wink' emoticon communicated that. I'm not sure how or why he took it that way.
When I said that most interactions with them are at negative times, I was talking about a result of crime/crash/ticket/etc. I thought that was pretty clear.
