Rich!! Congratulations! That's absolutely fantastic news! I'll most definitely be picking one up when they're released and I have the money to get one! That's just really really great news!

Rich, this is great news for you and all of us. I hope to have one of these collaborations in had before too long.

Congrats man! It's good to see the good guys getting what they deserve. I've been looking for a karambit for a while, and between your production model and these two new ones, I'll probably be set.

Thanks Peter! I hope I meet your needs in teh Karambit department:D

Pahtoocara, thanks for the continued enthusiasm! Love it!

Bro, they're killing me!...LOL Seriously, they have a batch done but won't release any until they are done with the entire run. Next, they won't finish the run until they are done with their Military contract which has been going on for over a year now. So I am still waiting the finished product.

They've been apologetic but I'm about to burst.

I'm sure they will be worth the wait. Keep us posted because I'm sure I will be getting one! :)

I actually owe you more than that bro! I swear I am almost caught up on my work and will be completing yours asap!:D

Well folks I finally have an update and I have bnoth good and bad news!

First the good news:
The Two collaborations between Derespina and Fox cutlery are about to be for sale! Indeed they are completed and just awaiting distribution I presume. I recieved a few of each finally and I must say they are the BEST quality karambits out there! The G10, the steel, the finishes and fit are all excellent quality. Beyond my expectations!!!!

Second, the bad news:
Fox cutlery had an issue in deciphering the measurements(do not know why?), and the specs for these knives are completely off!

Mostly in the handles. The blades are cool, awesomely ground and finished but the handles are waaaay too big for the average fella or lady. So, these will be the XL model for people with unusally wide hands.

They made 300 of them(each) only so it may be safe to assume there are at least 300 XL handed folks out there looking for an incredibly high quality Karambit.

Example, I took a poll here a while back and the average number that came up under and over was 4" hand widths. Most mens hands vary in length not width so the average was pretty close for all but a few giants and heavy fellas.

For instance, Im 6 3/4" tall weigh 225 lb now and am pretty large and dense above average. But my hand width only measure about 3 1/2" outsode knuckle to knuckle. Toward the palm my hand swells as most do.

My customs in the last few years have all been based on these measurements and if you know them, you know the fit like a glove on most of you.

So, these Fox Cutlery handles ended up being 4 1/2" on the partial collaboration Karambit and the Model 3 collaboration Parong style Karambit the handle is also 4 1/2".

They even made trainers from steel with red g10 scales!!!! I am very impressed otherwise and when their schedule clears Fox will be producing the same Karambits in the Average sized handles for the masses.

The Kydex sheaths they made are of the highest quality as well!

So anyone with them big meat slab hands in need of an excellent quality Karambit, contact me and I can get you one.

Sincerely,
Rich

very nice  ! fox already has a k waved folder but is a lot to improve. I really want a Derespina kbit folder :)

These sound cool! I know you're a busy guy... but any chance for a pic with knife in the hand?

I'm wondering... are they big enough to be held more comfortably without using the hole since the handle is about 1 inch longer than normal?

Thanks guys! Pahtoocara, the problem is that the handle has finger notches so they are designed for each finger which makes it a bit weird in the hand.

If it were a straight handle or palm swell it would have been much better. I will post a pic in hand asap!

Ok my peeps....here are the pics finally! These are to show the difference in size compared to the hand. I have a few of each, one in each finish(Tiger, Black coated, etc) I am still working on pricing, Fox are a bit slow in the reply department but a rough guess-timate is about $160.-ish....

They are made of premium N690Co steel. They are very sharp and like I said in previous posts though they are not to my specs, they are of the highest quality! The sheaths while they are not how I want them are really well made. The fit is perfect and the pop is perfect!

The finishes on the blades are great and the fit is excellent! Again, these are for huge handed people of better than 4" hand widths!

The smaller regular models won't be out for a few months still.

Anyone interested let me know and I can provide you with one or a aplce to get them.

Thanks!
Rich
