Derrick Bohn "Christmas in June" Memorial Giveaway

Derrick was a great guy to talk to and deal with. He will be greatly missed.

Please count me in.

Thank you!

I never hesitated to turn to KSF for all of my Bark River purchases, and it was all due to Derrick with his family oriented messages, passion for knives, and first-rate customer service. In the times I've tossed around the idea of getting into the retail knife business, I always think "It'd be tough to top a guy like Derrick Bohn." He was one of the best.

Count me in for this generous gaw. Thanks.

A tremendous gesture, PNWJimbo PNWJimbo !

Not an entry for me please.

I had no direct interactions with Derrick but his reputation here was beyond reproach and I truly believe our beloved community is considerably smaller without him. My thoughts are with his family as they not only cope, but also strive to continue with Derrick's vision.

Take care, everyone. I hope you all had a terrific Father's Day.

I’m in. Unfortunately I never had the pleasure of meeting Derrick, I just knew him from YouTube and knivesshipfree. They are my favorite knife retailer. I like that they take the time to photograph every individual knife and not just use a stock photo. I’ve killed hours examining the wood grains on Sebenza inlays.

I never met him in person, but was hoping to someday. I always received great service from KSF (and don't think that will change), and loved the videos.

Thank you for this opportunity, and please count me in.

His knife designs are inspirational and I am particularly fond of the Fremont Jack line. I would say it was my gateway into the slip joint world. Never had the chance to meet him, but I've heard nothing but the best of him. Hopefully Northwoods and GEC will continue on his legacy with this line of knives! So sorry to his family and their loss.

Thanks for doing this, please count me in as well.

Derek was the man most of my GEC and other traditional knives were purchased through ksf. My heart goes out to his family and friends. I’m in thanks and good luck!

I hated hearing the news about Derrick. Such a surprise, and right as KSF was in the middle of their big move from MI to TN. Best wishes to his family and coworkers.

I've never owned a Northwoods knife, so I appreciate the opportunity. I'm in.

As amazing and tempting of a giveaway as this is, I will pass. Just wanted to say what a great and fitting idea this was, I salute you in saluting Derrick!

Such a wonderful giveaway. Put me in please.

I have to say I was surprised at how much I was effected by the passing of someone I had never met in person. But the few interactions I had with him on the phone and through his reputation in the community was enough to know the knife world is a much smaller place now without him. Thoughts to his family and friends.

The day he passed I searched to see what I could find out.. why.. what happened. During that search to find out what happened, I was surprised to see that he had a Doctorate in Theology. Here's a link to his blog if anyone is interested in reading or listening to some of his sermons. Also learned that he was originally from the Kansas City area, as am I. I never met him in person, but like many others was shocked and saddened by his passing.

I'm in for the giveaway please. I missed out on these :(. I tried to get a stag but wasn't quick enough...several times over.

Thanks for the chance Jimbo :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Jimbo, that is a very generous way to honor someone who touched your life. Thanks for sharing your story and the opportunity to participate. Please count me in.

I’ve heard so much about Derrick, I’ve watched his videos he’s a legend in his our wright! Thoughts go out to his family during the very difficult time and the team at KSF!

Thanks for such a generous gaw! Count me IN

I'm in. Sad to hear of his passing. Thanks for this and for your excellent and helpful videos.

Put me in Jimbo. The Freemont is definitely my favorite Northwoods model. The Freemont jack and Madison barlow both designs of Derrick's, were a huge reason modern knife collectors moved into traditionals knives.

I never met Derrick in person, but his emails always came off as if he were a friend. He seemed to really take the time to explain all things knives and it clearly was his passion. I hope his family will find solace in knowing how many people he touched and influenced.

Please count me in. And thank you for setting this up. Truly generous!

Consider me In. I always liked his videos about each knife. The Freemont knife is the only one I regret selling.
