Desert Bound Natural Outlaw Variant !!!! (cool pic)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that variants averaged approximately $100.00 per inch. If this is so it doesn't appear to be such a lucky amount for said knife and service member. I don't mean to offend anyone, just voicing my opinion and the amount per inch for variants from what I was told.

The Customs run $100.00 an inch.

Prices on Variants vary a little from blade to blade.

Thanks 1WHOBUYS, however I'm a bit confused with the difference between custom verses variant along with price. It appears that the variants cost more than the customs which doesn't make sense to me. My way of thinking would infer that a variant is simply a modification/variation hence the term "variant" from a current production line profile blade. A custom on the other hand would seem to be something different than your ordinary line or anything resembling one and therefor more labor intensive/more in cost. To me it seems like it would be easier/less labor intensive/less cost to produce a variant coming from a standard Busse line production blade. Hopefully you can understand what I'm trying to point out/explain here. My thinking may be off base here and would greatly appreciate it if someone could clarify this. Thanks--------Adam

yeah i would like to know too. also if charged by the inch is that total or just blade length? chuck you had not better charge by the inch, do like i do and charge by the hour or pound:)

Your thinking sounds right to me Adam, but I am merely a piglet amongst a sea of hogs. I am sure Marc can chime in and tell you if we are both crazy. We'll he already knows that I am a few bricks short of a full load, but that's a whole other discussion.

Sharp Thoughts,
A custom is $100 an inch, it is for each inch of the knife, including
the handle. 6 inch blade + 5 inch handle = $1100 for a custom.
So a NO variant is a bargain at $600.;) :D

Chip nailed it. The customs are $100.00 per inch of overall length. Variants are considerably less expensive because of the reasons that Sharp Thoughts pointed out.

Welcome aboard Sharper Thoughts! Glad to have you here. I hope this clarifies the pricing issue.
