Desert Ergos or custom from elsewhere?

I was just looking around the BF Exchange and was amazed at how many people are buying, selling, or trading for Busses. These knives are a commodity, sort of like (dare I say it) pork bellies. It is incredible what these knives offer in value, craftsmanship, as well as useability! Busse's are special.
(Do I get extra INFI for kissing-up?)

No.....bad idea. You don't want one of those pesky variants...no I'm sure you wouldn't be happy with that. The variants are really just designs Jerry messed up on, there is no need to buy any of those. I'll take care of taking them off the market so no one else has too be concerned about those "mistakes"

Try calling or e-mailing the shop. I think the custom shop guy (Marc) may be a bit out of the loop for the next 18 years or so...:cool:

I may not offer you one of mine but I will help where I can :D

I'd say if you don't know exactly what you are after contact Marc at marc@bussecombat.com and discuss your options/project. He can answer any questions you may have and give you a ballpark on the cost.

The other option is to hang out here on the forums and try to catch one of the GFD's that Jerry sometimes posts. If you are lucky enough to be online when it is post and no one else has beat you to it you might have a chance. Of course he doesn't do this often so it may be a wait either way.

The final option is to head towards Blade show in June and try to get one there

I truely appreciate the information that was given on the forum on through email. It has been very helpful. :)

I thought you might want to hear what decision I am thinking of prior to the deadline. I am *planning* to go with the Trio of Desert Ergos AND a custom Trace Rinaldi Armegeddon. That will put me a couple hundered over my limit, :( but I figue I can sell one of the two smaller ergos for a couple hundred to make up the difference if needed. (Read: If my wife finds out there is a couple hundered dollars missing :eek: :D )

The other option I was really looking at was a custom Busse, but that would take up my entire fund and would leave me with just one knife, although worth every penny. What I like about that idea was the ability to get a truely unique and awesome knife made of IFNI.

I'm interested in opinions if you have them,

PS Wanted to add that Marc was very helpful and quickly answered my questions when I emailed him.
 
Go here and take a look around. You might get a few ideas on what you might like in a custom knife from Busse Combat. See what it costs and if there is anything left over, buy a user!
 
A trio of Desert Ergos ordered, and in discussion with Trace on the Arm whether he can make it a special 12" for me or not. :D

I'm a happy camper!:cool:

Thanks for the help, I wouldn't have gotten the ergos without your help, and now that they are discontinued, I'm glad I got in on them.
