Matt. Good looking blade.
On the 3V annealing, It takes up to 18 hours in a well controlled oven to do it correctly. A pain in the rear, but worth it.
You can get it down to the low 40's R-C in about 12 hours, (40 degrees per hour 'til furnace is black then turn off ) That should work OK for a fixed blade, but for a folder the long hard road is a must (pivot hole, thumb stud hole, ETC.). High Roc drills work up to RC 60+ but are fragil as glass, High priced too.
