Desert knife

That's a nice one Matt! If I tried rolling a knife in my hand like you did, I would definitely have cut myself.

I've never been to Death Valley, but I once visited Arches National Park in Moab, UT. All there was to see was rocks, sand, and more rocks, all in 107 degree heat... Yuk!

Me too! That’s why I don’t sharpen them until I’m finished with the sheath. :D This one didn’t have an edge at this point. It does, now. :)

I know it, buddy - this will be an interesting one, for me. Forecast says it might go light on me - highs of only 86º.

Great knife, but we need photographic evidence...of you in the desert!

Great knife!! Ya know I'm 3 hours from Death Valley according to Google and I've never been there. have fun!
I drive past it, one of the portals, all the time heading up to Mammoth for fly fishing. Never understood the attraction

Finally finished the sheath. First time I've done this - lined kydex, with mahogany dyed bison leather covering it. I'm interested to see how this holds up, and glad that I'm getting a chance to test it on MY knife.

Serviceable and good looking too. Covering and lining the kydex makes for a quiet sheath which I especially prefer. Nicely done

Wow really liking that sheath too Matt, a bunch! I use bison quite a bit on different projects.

Sonnydaze Sonnydaze we all have our crosses we must bear.

I've cowboyed in em about 3 years now and they've held up pretty well:

That right leg can take a lot of wear and tear and abrasion from the rope. No plans on building a new pair anytime soon, don't need em.

Apron fringe has taken a beating though but its regular cowhide.
