oh, it did. I have no clue how to make it smaller.

I though we needed a tactical model entered, to add some flavor.

Ok, I got two for the mix. I also have a Roach Belly design, but I heard that one didn't go over well last time.

#1 is a camp knife based on the cutlass machete. The blade widens as you move from the ricasso to the tip. This is primarily for extra belly, though it'll help with chopping also. The balance point should be right at the choil.
1/8" or 5/32" O-1 steel, 1.75" tall at widest point
6.5" Blade, 4.5" Handle, 11" OAL
Convex saber grind (could be wider)

#2 is my bushcraft tanto. I call it the Bush-Ido. The handle could be lengthened a bit, cuz I have little hands. The point of balance could also be more neutral, say between the ricasso and first pin.
1/8" O-1 steel, 1.25" tall
5.25" Blade, 4.25" Handle, 9.5" OAL
Convex saber grind

Here's my submissions.

#1 - "Get-A-Grip"

I'm sure that most people would like the more traditional angled (the spine) blade shown above.

However, I thought it would be interesting to add a greater angle that allowed one's hand to be in a more natural position.

#2 - "The Boomer" (because I thought it looked like a boomerang)

On both knives, I added an area on the spine of the blade that could be used as a chisel sharpened place where a pull cut could be made. This is an optional addition and is not required.

The curved area on the spine is for either thumb or forefinger placement.

Thanks for the chance and good luck its been fun watching all of the shapes and sizes and ideas,

Brett

Here's another design. For this one I wanted to use a different handle shape, but still keep it big enough for large hands. The blade is 1/8" thick. That, combined with the blade shape, should make this a nice slicer. I'll name it the "Puma."

It seems like interest is dying in this contest. I`ll probably be ending it sooner than expected.

I'll just start with this..... this was one of my entires from last year... my favorite of my entires actually... so I'll resubmit it for this year :) That way if this ends before I get a drawing done I'll have this up. :)

Here's my first attempt. The size was determined by the saw blade I was going to cut it out of, in my first attempt at making a knife. Haven't got around to it yet. I was planning a convex but a scandi would work.

Ok here are my drawing...My chute knife came out not as good as in my mind, but I'm sure you get the idea. Plus John is great at translating photos into knives!

It came out a larger than I wanted so I think I would shorten it to about ~4.75-5" and the spine was supposed to be straighter. I couldn't really decide on pins, but that is trivial. Also the glassbreaker could be taken off as well, but wanted to add it as some like it.

The scandi I drew is pretty similiar to the Pocket scandi, but a little longer with a little different profile. My first drawing was very similiar to Rockywolf's, but it evolved a bit.
