Design critique please!

Ted. Imissed the dimensions you included. Did this person ask for such a big hunter. I found the popular ones had blades of say 3 1/2" to 4" The handles were proportonately smaller in diameter but not in length. The opropotions you have drawn make for a great looking knife !!! Frank

Thanks Frank. Yes, he wanted a (relatively) big knife, which is why I'm struggling a bit with the design. If the blade was in the 3 - 4" range, the handle would have been easier to match.

And get rid of the choil. On a true hunting knife they become a problem when the knife is inserted all the way the blade will hang up on it. Frank

boy, did i find that out! i put a notch on my first two hunting knives (gutting & skinning blade) and HATE that stupid notch! :grumpy:

i think the revised version is a very nice knife. I do agree with patrice about raising the blade to match the handle. for most knives, that looks 'right' to me... except those that don't! :D like brian goode. his designs have deep blades, and i REALLY like his stuff!
