This is the design that I just recently came up for to use for my first knife that I plan to make. I designed it to be a general purpose bushcraft/outdoor knife. It might even see some use as a hunting knife.

Blade Length: 4.75 inches
Handle Length: 4.75 inches
Handle Material: Red/Black G10
Sheath: Red Kydex

As for the blade steel and thickness, I'm not really sure what to go for. As far as blade steel, I need something that will be fairly easy to work with minimal tools (hand files, dremel etc). As for how thick of stock I need, I really have no real idea on this or the grind (maybe something similar to the grind on a BK2). Below is a picture of the design itself. Tell me what you guys think.

nothing wrong with that. I filed my first knife out of 3/16" O1. I would probably use 1/8, if I had to do it over. I'm partial to O1, but a lot of people on here like 1095 (never used it, so I have no 1st hand experience with it).
