Hi Guys- I just received a CRKT Journeyer, designed by Liong Mah. This slip-joint folder works on a detent ball in each liner. The balls hold the blade at half open and full open. This is such a great idea. Is anyone aware of this design?

Seems to me some place back there I did hear a rumbling. I have myself made several what I call "back pocket folders" that look like slip joints without thumb studs or nail nicks but in fact are liner locks.

Thanks, Frank!
I had no idea about the dual detent balls until Liong told me about it today. I knew something was different when I got the folder and opened it!

Using detents to essentially make a slightly more robust slip joint has been around for a long time.

Most of the hardcore slip joint guys seem to prefer something more traditional, so I suppose that I why you don't see more of these.

Thanks. ^
Liong just told me that he thinks an Italian designer did the detent slippie-thing awhile ago. He mentioned Bob Terzuola using it also.
Cool stuff! I like the no-back spring!
