What do you guys think of this design? It's the makers' (Eric Elson) interpretation of my design. It will be O-1 flatground, thro holes on the tang with undercut G-10 scales. It's going to be right around 8 inches (+/- 1/2").

Any thoughts?

Here's my $.02. I like it! Blade shape looks very practical, handle looks ergonomic, O-1 is a very good carbon steel, and all the work at Eric's site looks great. Plus you get the satisfaction of using a knife made from your design. What are the dimensions going to be? Go for it, and let us know how it comes out!

Thanks guys! It's still in the developmental stages, so all the sharp edges will be worked out. Undercut scales basically for looks. The flat surfaces will be bead blasted and the ground area will be polished, for a high contrast. I might go with 440C instead of O-1, but I haven't decided yet.

I like it a lot!

Am not sure about that tiny hooked choil, tho. It looks like it could catch on things when you didn't want it to, but otherwise can't serve any purpose I can see. It appears it would be possible to make a useful ricasso, while still providing the guard capability. Adding the potential for different grips enhances the utility of knives, IMO.
