Designing Swords: Need Opinions

Kumdo, I feel a little like Mr. Magoo speaking among giants like Howard but for my .02 worth, I don't like the notches and I'm not a great fan of straight blades. I also don't think the grip would be wide enough to suit me.

This is not to say that your design is bad. It's not and I really like some of the lines, but from a using standpoint I see very little improvement over something like a KC Ninja-to.
Again this is just my opinion and is given so you can weigh all the opinions.

Of the two designs shown, I like the first much better.

Hey kids. Sorry I haven't replied here in a while. Just wanted to let you all know that I've decided to scrap this project. I've decided to leave sword designing to the experts. My original intension was to come up with something that would be a utilitarian, heavy-duty sword that could supplement Ted Frizzell's line. After much time and consideration, I've decided that Ted, with his 20 some years experience, has already developed an awesome line of swords that already fit the bill for what I was looking for.

Furthermore, Ted intends to continue developing new styles and models. He is already working on swords with Tsuba-type guards (some of you will be happy to hear).

Anyone interested in seeing what is currently available, check out the web site: http://www.plan-a.org/mmhw/swords.htm

Thanks again for everyone's help. I am continually amazed by the integrity and kindness of members of this forum.
