Destroyed my MANIX 2 LW help!!

Applied Weapons Tech makes aluminum linerless scales for the Manix 2 LW
rs=w:600,h:600

Please don't help the OP dig a deeper hole for himself.

It specifically states in the product description that these scales do NOT fit the Manix LW !!!!

See: AWT Manix 2 Scales

OP: I understand the impluse to try to fix something you f*cked up right away but my "advice" is to just send the parts to Spyderco and hope for the best.

You can take other action later if Spyderco says it can't/won't do anything with them but if you spend $ on and try to fit parts onto your knife that aren't designed for the LW, you could just make matters worse and will be out more $ to boot.

To answer your question ... yes the blade from your LW model will fit in a G10 Manix 2 if you can't get your LW back together.
What if I got a regular manix 2 I would be able to just swap the blade atleast right? The dimensions weren’t changed for the blade I hope. Atleast I can cope a little better thinking I have a spare s90v manix blade I paid $110 for 😭

It says it won't fit because it doesn't come with everything you need to assemble. With a G10 Manix, you reuse the blade, lockbar, spring, and some hardware (pivot, clip, etc.). Blade and lock parts are identical on G10 and LW versions, so you'd need to provide the missing hardware and a clip. The backspacer would be the hardest thing to track down (not sure if an aftermarket one is even available).

Transplant the blade into a G10 model, or use Rockscale linerless Ti scales (you will still need screws from a regular Manix 2 or equivalent).

It happens. I put filler screws on an HDS light to conceal the clip holes. They corroded in place and I stripped them trying to get them out. I then tried drilling them out ruining the threads in the process. I succeeded in rendering the clip useless and having to fill in two holes with silicon to keep water from entering the electronics. I then disassembled the light to check if I did any other damage and after reassembly I had some extra parts. Had to contact the company for assistance.

And does it sound like the OP has access to those parts and the skill to install them?

No disrespect to the OP but it really doesn't sound like he does because, if he did, he wouldn't have had to ask for help in the 1st place.

There's nothing wrong with living w/in the limitations of your knowledge and experience and this is one of those situations IMO.

But he came hear asking for potential help, so help is what is being offered. No need to characterize someone you likely don't know IMHO.

Well, FWIW, I don't consider recommending the OP buy a pair of $85 scales, that do NOT fit his knife and then to expect to find & pay for all of the other parts that you mentioned that he needs to "make them" fit his LW, very useful when he botched removing the rivets from the FRN scales on his LW in the 1st place.

But, if that's what the OP decides to do, so be it. 🤷‍♂️

I think i will try to find a very used and cheap manix and just swap blade and/or parts as needed. I am trying to further my knowledge and limitations as I get more into this hobby. For $110 that I paid for it I’ll chalk up to tuition fees I’ve paid way more for harder lessons. Thank you all for your help and opinions was very informative if anyone is selling a dirt cheap manix 2 send them my way!

It's your time/$ but I still think the first/best/cheapest course is to send it to Spyderco to see if they can fix it for a minimal cost.

If they balk and say they can't deal w/it, then you've got many options open to you to to try to salvage the knife.

Again, good luck!

If you send it back to spyderco they might not return it to you if they deem it unsafe and a liability.
