Destruction test

SN: when are you gonna take your CPK plunge? Can't just tippy toe forever, son! Perhaps the Missus would like to treat you to a very nice Christmas present? ;)

Now go target practice with that Miller.Bros of yours ;)

Good question. I need go stop all the pussy footin'!

Oh man, an M8 might cause the bullet to evaporate into a poof of lead!

Lorien,

But shooting a knife would be totally awesome and way completely safe.

What could go wrong?

Turn up your sound for this one!

Based on the videos Nathan has posted of both edge tests and the flex tests I certainly wouldn't doubt the performance. That 3V with the new HT is just stellar.

Let me know either way. If you don't have something laying around, I might try hitting up the local butcher for a cow femur or hip. As a hunter, I am sure you have met folks who will try to split the sternum or hip with a knife. Not really a great idea, but surprisingly common.

I have a bunch of antlers, just need to find a decently fresh one, a brownie. That's my dad, he's always used a knife to split the pelvic bone. He does like using my rmj Jenny wren now when he can.

put the bone AND the knife in the freezer overnight!

Immerse in liquid Nitrogen before taking a hammer to it. That ought to do it and if it doesn't, I'd volunteer to set up Carothers distribution on Triton!

I know a guy :)

Seen some of those, but they do have some thick geometry to the edge. Nates are really thin in comparison. Hey David, are you making sheaths for the field knife yet?

Antler will go out in the morning. It's a nice fresh brownie. Curious to see how the knife holds up!

there's a famous story in the cutlery world of a guy who was shot and the bullet hit the knife he had on im and saved his life...can't remember the deets ???
but, don't do that. That kind of testing is stupid, particularly when it comes to riccochet!

The one story I have heard was a SWAT officer who was hit by an AD from another officer. He was wearing a Busse Badger Attack on his vest, and the flat of the blade stopped the round, which left a smudge in the coating. There were pics posted. Eventually the officer had to sell the knife to raise some funds. Later some folks chipped in to buy the knife back and return it home.

Thanks for sharing David, any info available from after the tests?

Both fared just fine, but they are another knife company's knives.

I have not "tested" my shiv yet, need to do that :)
