To reduce the damage to your finger tip, make sure there is no relative movement between your finger tip and the flip tab until the blade flies out. Push/pull the tab firmly.

If it will eventually definitely "break in" then I'll stick it out. It's just a hassle to explain the problem, send it back, etc. But I tend to agree with you Lapedog, a knife of this kind should function more easily IMO.

I wouldn’t count on it breaking in. It sounds to me like there is something wrong with it. I know it sucks to return a knife you just got but it sucks worse to keep a knife that reminds you it is defective every time you open it.

Do not try to fix it yourself or you can’t return it.
