When I first took on the project I remove that steel insert holding the detent ball thinking that I could access the back of the ball and tap it out. There wasn't any hole present behind the ball.
I contacted ZT and heard back fm them today. ZT emailed me and suggested that I send them my knife and they'd replace the bearing. I packed up the knife and included a few ceramic balls to replace the flattened ball and tomorrow I'm sending my knife to ZT. I'm hoping that ZT won't mind using the bearings that I've included. Crossed fingers.
