Detent rock

I’ve got a ZT0308 with some nasty lock-rock. Made a thread about it here a month ago or so…

Hey man I am having this issue on my EMP Nymble. I want to get this fixed but I think it was because the previous owner anodized the scales, so it's out of warranty. He also said he thinks that's where the play came from..
Anodizing won't normally change any dimensions. Unless they really got it wrong and dissolved the detent ball or something. Taking stuff apart and putting it together wrong is a more likely cause.

You should reach out to EMP. They have a bunch of contact emails on their page.

Lock rock is different than detent lash or detent rock. What I'm taking about is pkay in the blade when it's in the closed position. It can come from a few different things.

I reached out and he said if it developed detent lash, it's most likely a goner. He said he would try to fix it, but because it's ano'd, it is most likely out of warranty, I am kinda scared to ask because of this. I asked if he has a spare insert I could buy, or maybe some spare detent balls in smaller and larger sizes maybe, he has yet to reach back our about that question.

The previous owner says he can't remember if he removed the lockbar insert before flaming or not. I thought that the heat and ferro' dip probably messed it up somehow.... I really doubt it that he didn't remove it though. The lockside scale is more gold, so it got less heat than a good lightning ano in purple anyways..

Have any tips or resources for me? Know anyone that sells lockbar inserts or detent balls for a nymble?

Thanks!

Yes, poor wording on my part. My ZT 0308 has nasty detent rock in the closed position.

Know of any fix?
Actually, disassembling / reassembling the knife helped it. It probably put the detent ball closer to the edge of the detent hole. I have no why idea ZT made the detent hole so big on the blade.
