Well my letter came not to long ago. Mr Customs has taken my CQC7B before I even got to hold it!

Sad day.

Wow--so is it just illegal to own such a knife? Would they have taken any 'modern' folder? Really sorry to hear about this.

So sorry to hear about your loss! I feel your pain as I have had the same along with ones were "lost" in transit.

Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK is where Pattas29 is located for those asking where.

UK legislation is tricky. Good luck on future endeavors. Contact some local collectors etc from the UK and ask if they have ever went a similar route and how they resolved it.

^^^^ is Correct.

Customs in the UK. I am in the process of asking for it back (asking for my own property back. What a joke!) but I am not holding out much hope.

I bought it off Blades Forums and I am not to sure what the seller put on for the description (Not his fault at all I asked him to put something as the description but can't remember what) which seemed to flag it up. Also they have classed it as a Flick/Gravity knife. Which I don't see as possible. Gravity knife apparently is where the knife can be dropped open. No way anyone would want the pivot screw so loose you can drop an Emerson open.

I admit I never bonded with it but my hope were so high for getting it that not getting it was devastating. Also it took me ages to decide on a model and decide that I didn't want the wave feature. The day I decided i looked on here and saw someone selling one. In my head it was like it was meant to be. So in my head I had bonded with.

Apparently I was very wrong and it was not meant to be.

In parts of the US and I believe in Canada and Australia as well, if you grasp the blade and fling your arm out and the handle flies open from the blade -- that's a gravity knife.

There is almost no knife I can't deploy that way. Even some tiny CS mini tuff light. Weird.

Did I mention it was always my dream to work for customs?:D

How much would you guys pay me to not pursue a career with our friends from customs or maybe the NYPD?

Seriously. If Arnold works for these guys even a Swiss Army Knife would turn into a gravity knife.

Some more objective measurement seems in order.
Maybe asking a judge to bring all his folders which he thinks are legal carry and then wrist flicking them open might make the point. Pay me the flight and a hotel and I wouldn't mind to demonstrate within the US at least. I'm sure there are others who could do the same.
