Devastated

Some more objective measurement seems in order.
Maybe asking a judge to bring all his folders which he thinks are legal carry and then wrist flicking them open might make the point.

Doug Ritter has been working on the problem, one state at a time. Customs is a different problem.

If I were buying off here, I would be inclined to ask the seller to post it disassembled to try and mug customs off.

Playing games with customs like that is an admission you know you're doing something wrong.

The Brit who had his "7" confinscated was ignorant of the law were he lives, or maybe tried to sneak something by hoping customs would not catch it. I learned long ago to know the general laws on knives, or firearms when traveling from state to state in the USA.

What is OK say in Arizonn to own, pocess, or have on you person. Could be a FELONY when you cross into California the land of too many law that IMHO make little sense, and keep Joe honest citizen from have the tool of self defence.

It's in know way an admission of doing wrong. It's a means of avoiding theft by beaurocracy. When something can be bought perfectly legally within a country, why should you not be allowed to import it, at a fraction of the cost?

For the same reason the Japanese protect their home rice industry, and tax the imported rice to keep the farmer at home happy.

Recall when living in Sacramento many tourists from japan have a 5 pound bag of California Rice as a momento of their visit to the CA Rice Co-Op. Reason was they the tourists were allowed to bring home a 5 pound bag of something they loved, but could not afford at home, or was so expensive it was not practical to by CA Rice.

Letssay the rice grower in CA would love to have free trade with Japan, but it is not happening.

I am well aware of the laws in the UK regarding knives. However the CQC7 I bought is not illegal here it is just down to unknowing Customs officers assuming the knife has been bought to be used as a weapon.
