Devils Path Catskill Mountains (Pic Heavy)

My brother in law is doing pretty well. He's come home late last week, they live across the street from me and stopped by to pay a visit and try out his crutches. Still pretty tender and the nerves are playing hell with him. He gets pain in the missing foot.

tanglediver tanglediver have him name his crutches two different names one for left and one for right and write it on the crutches with a sharpie. And keep the same name under the same arm everytime. Trust me on this one:thumbsup: Mine were Karen and Kathy

Awesome trip, Tanker 1/66 Tanker 1/66 ! That looked like one hell of a hike, nicely done! Even if you couldn't complete the trail in its entirety, what you did accomplish was no joke. Now that you've had a taste, you know what you can expect and prepare for on the next time, you will rock it.

Thanks for sharing the pictures by the way, that is some rugged terrain.

Thanks Pàdruig Pàdruig It was tough and we seriously thought about making camp and completing the hike the next morn. Water was our main concern or the lack of water. Every spring and stream was bone dry. We found a trickle coming thru the rocks so I filled and filtered thru my Grayl filter and topped everybody off. Not knowing if we could find water again we had to fill every container we had. Which in turn added about 8lbs to our packs each. One gallon of water is 8.34lbs. By the time we ascended 3900 feet and descended 3600 and running in the 70s with 60-70 humidity the water was just about gone. And it was 2100 dark thirty. The second half of the hike is known as the dry side!!!! Command decision was made. Plus it was opening weekend of the youth hunt lol and my nephew wanted to go hunting. Can blame him on that one. He dropped a nice 4 point the next day.

If you come to the most southern part of the Catskills we have lots of water - the Delaware River ! LOL !
