I recently bought a Dewalt D28770K Metal Band Saw, having seen some in shops, vertically mounted on the wall, or bench. Can someone, who has done this, help me with the dimensions, or a design template to fabricate a new, larger table for use on this particular model saw, when mounted vertically?

I would be very interested in any suggestions on material used, and appropriate dimensions so I can put together something similar.

Thanks in advance.

Ebay has a vertical band saw stand that attaches to the plate held by your vise. You can see it on ebay just type in (vertical band saw stand). Also, you can attach it to a 4x4 by using U brackets on the back. There's a thread from a knife maker in here that shows pics of how to's. I have mine mounted to the 4x4 and can be held by my vise. For mine, I found a 3/8x8x13 aluminum plate on ebay for $5 + shipping. I just cut a slot for the blade, drilled and counter sunk a couple of holes, and it works great. One of the best purchases I've made.

I made a post by screwing 2 2x4s together with a base and bolted it to my work bench, then took some mild steel bar stock, bolted through to replace the handles and bolted the mild steel brackets to the post. My table is just a piece of 1/2" G10 that's slotted and bolted to the existing brackets for that thing they call a "table".
