Hey guys I just picked up a dewalt port-a-band at the pawn shop for 120$... did I get a good deal or did I get skunked?

It's in ok shape, everything works, it's a variable speed and the only things I can see wrong with it is the light doesn't work and the forward handle is cracked...

Sounds like a deal to me. Buying one new is pricey! Now build a Swag table👍🏻!!!

Love my portaband and swag table.

Sounds like a great deal. I think they go for $300 new (at least the Milwaukee's do, and I was between Dewalt and Milwaukee, settled on a Milwaukee, but I think they are around the same price)

I swore off of Dewalt when they tried to charge me 100 bucks for replacements batteries on a drill. The drill only cost 50.................

Thats a good deal, there was a weird tweeker estate sale yard near my house and I managed to snag a milwaukee port-a-band for 15$. It was a backup for my current milwaukee and I let my dad borrow it, just never got it back.

Pretty solid deal. I got my dewalt from a pawnshop too. Was basically brand new with case and not even a scratch on it for $110 after haggling em down. But this was a few years back when construction was still recovering from reccession and items like this we're slow to sell and cheap to buy.

Cool, thanks for the insight! I saw one a few months back for over two hundred, but I really didn't know what they typically go for. Wish I woulda found one for 15$! Silly tweekers!

Same thing with all brands. The batteries are very expensive. I got tires of using one battery in my Hitachi. It was cheaper to buy a new drill with 2 batteries than buy an extra battery for existing drill. So no it's not a DeWalt thing.
