I know alot of you guys use the DeWalt portaband in a stand for your blade and handle cutting needs.

Do the most of you have the one that ToolKing sells for $199; the 6-amp version?

Would I benefit more from the 10-amp version that Lowe's has? My fiance gets 10% off so the $299 would be $269; and it's new, not reconditioned. Still, thats a $70 difference between the 2.

If the 6amp version is what most of you have, and love, that's what I'll most likely order. Just didn't know if the 10 amp was really worth it or not.

I dealt with the same issue. Got alot of advice on Millwaukee vs DeWalt but none on the 6 vs 10 amp. I got the 10 and am happy with it. One bit of advice - if you get the 10 it will not automaically fit on the aftermarket stand from Swagoffroad.com. I had to specially grind the opposing sides of a hex nut to rig mine to fit. Otherwise, both great products.

New price is $199.55, and I have a free shipping coupon code. I think spending the extra $70 on the 10 amp model would be over kill for what Im going to be doing. Seems like most people have the 6A model.

Wow, I didn't know those stands were available! Which one do you have, the modular or the plates type where you can bench mount or wall mount?
