Hey Fellas,
I went back and forth on floor standing 4x6 or Dewalt Portable. I bit the bullet and chose a refurbished D28770K from CPO.

I see some guys strap the portable band saw to a table with some type of steel. What type of steel do you guys use for this, and where do you get it?

I've also seen some tables for the unit. Does anyone have info. for me on where they got the table, or if they made it, what did they make it out of and how did they attach it?

I just got a bunch of steel from Chuck at Alpha so I'm excited to do some cutting. :) Many thanks!

THIS is a good thread w/ photos. Mine is post #2 (from back when I was posting as Hypocrite). I used 3/16" steel plate for my table, but I would recommend using stainless or aluminum if you have access. The paint is wearing on mine and it is looking a bit worn and rusty.

Thanks Erin, that solves another problem. Where to put it. I have a perfect post in my shop - OK, in my garage that is near my wood bandsaw.

i just used 2x4's and some angle iron to bolt it to the wall. My "table" is a No Parking sign that I found for a dollar. I really have to upgrade but I have been cutting for over a year without problems. Another thing, the bimetal blades will cut for a long time, but every time I change one, I remember how easy cuts can be. I plan to change alot more often.
