Thread taken offline. I don't know what this is about and I am too tired to care at the moment. We will discuss it tomorrow.

Maybe we should let the sleeping dog lie (or is it lay, can never remember). It seems like it is specifically about knife murder, and has no place at all here, not even in Whine & Cheese. I would say just warn the guy.

I think Dexter had a Busse in an episode. Maybe it was a sighting thread? Or not, who knows besides esav.

I know what it's like to be a member on a forum, have someone new join, and post something stupid. Sorry If I did that here, it was not my intention.

He's a prop guy. He's interested in identifying and then reproducing a set of props from the television show, simply to be able say he's reproduced that prop set. That's what prop guys do.

I just finished Season 5 on DVDs. One of the better seasons in a great series. If you haven't watched the show, you're in for a treat.

There was no reason to have the original post taken off line.... It's a TV show and this guy digs props.

Stopping the OP would mean that every Rambo knife should be banned from the site.

We try to figure out what knives are on screen and that's fine, but this guy uses the 'wrong' title for a thread and the thread gets yanked?

Edit: Who keeps hiding my dang coffee!:grumpy:

Maybe I should just leave it where it is. I mean, if this is the encouragement I get to look kindly on your happy hobby, forget it.

In a nutshell.

I agree. I think removing my post altogether was a little drastic.

I don't understand what you're saying.

Sorry again.

I believe Esav is saying that he didn't deserve the snarky tone of Skimo's reply, which, in my opinion, he absolutely did not. I think you've made things worse by claiming you don't understand that, given that Esav's shown sufficient tolerance to restore the thread (which, in the eyes of many knife enthusiasts who are not familiar with prop hobbyists, glorifies the negative aspects of knives).

I wasn't trying to make things worse. I just didn't understand if Esav's post was directed at me or Skimo.

I think maybe it's best to just forget the thread if it's creating this many problems.

Thanks for those who helped before it was deleted. I appreciate it.

Esav puts a lot of time and effort into keeping this site from being overun by all types we don't need.

If you have a problem with him call him to the side and talk to him in private. Show a little respect. Notice I'm not suggesting you should agree with all his decisions but a bit of tact isn't too much to ask.

Esav, I was trying to point out the difference between guys posting "What knife is this in movie/show from year whatever or episode whatever" and "Hey guys do you know what knives were used in Dexter season whatever"

Because in general knives are weapons in movies and shows, what exactly is the difference if it's a knife from Hunted, Rambo, 24 or the myriad of other shows and movies?

I'm not trying to encourage anything in this thread but the lawful use of knives and the acceptance of this guys hobby which crosses into our world of knives.

In my attempt at a dispassionate argument I sounded snarky, it was not my intention to do so, and I do apologize for not communicating that better to you and the other members who have viewed and/or commented in this thread.

I think the rules are in place and you are the moderator, there's a good chance I missed something that you didn't miss, but this hadn't occurred to me.

When it appeared to me that a somewhat awkward post (not clarifying that he was a set/prop guy in laymen terms) got what looked like unfair attention, I felt that it was unfair since I hadn't seen anything morally, ethically or legally wrong in his post.

Again everyone, I'm sorry that I sounded like that.
