From the perspective of a person who has been through this 3x or so, this may seem about par for the course 5-6 days out. Seems to be a little bruising and swelling probably from the operation or injury? Looks more pinkish/purple than bright red....
Did they say it looked okay? Did they ever tell you about the vinegar?

I understand your concern though, and it's a good thing you are having them check it out if there are any questions in your mind. (Don't take my comments as any kind of medical advice, please run (or limp) right back if you get anything you are uncomfortable about!!!!)
 
They didn't like the look, so change of meds and see me next week. It looks a lil better this A.M.
Vinegar soak discontinued,Betadine and a new Antibiotic. Added.

Topical DMSO on and around the wound will dramatically speed up the healing process, and when used together with antibiotics the DSMO will also transport these through the skin and much deeper into the tissues (and bone)
Where i live it's common practice for diabetic related issues, like wounds and circulatory problems.

Two other options are niacin (the cheap flush version), which will noticeably improve circulatory problems (and dissolve blood clots, completely replace statins, and lower intraocular pressure), and niacinamide (which will protect nervous tissues from damage, like for instance your retina's, which are at risk from diabetes).
Both are forms of Vitamin B3, but they do very different things in your body.
 
Today the toe is the best it has been.

I saw the doctor yesterday and he pronounced me healed !
The Socks I bought from Diabeticsock.com are 80 per cent Cotton and its sloughing off the Socks and onto my feet and shoes. Seems it was wasted money.
I did order 2 different brands yesterday and hoping for better luck with them.
