Diamond Paste

I've heard for the past 10 years that if you're going to use diamond sharpening stones or any kind of diamond based sharpener of anytype you want to make sure that it's made of "monocrystalline diamonds". I even have an article out of BLADE magazine going back to the late 90s concerning that subject.

Is that true with this diamond paste as well? I would assume that DMT who does use Monocrystalline Diamonds in all their sharpening tools would also use them in their paste but I'm wondering about other manufacturers as well?

Because I've heard from several sources that not all diamonds are created equal by any means.

Jd, I've read the 3 big diamond mfg. use the same type diamonds as those are the better ones. EZLap, DMT and Smith . Some of the other mfg. of diamond stones use other processes and their diamonds shear off quickly rendering the stone useless in less time . So, yes not all diamonds are the same and not all diamond stones are the same . DM
