Diamond Penetrator For Hardness Test

Has anyone used a Diamond Penetrator from China on a Rockwell? This one is what I'm talking about:

I asked the vendor and got a response that it was for Rockwell "C" use and the tip was a 120º angle - I think that's what is used in our testers?

Those generally work fine.

The big US suppliers hate them because they charge what the penetrator is worth, not what they think they can get for it. $350 for a penetrator is just ridiculous. Hopefully, the US suppliers will come down on their price.
 
That's sorta what I expected Stacy - thank you for the response. I've been thinking about purchasing a spare for my Grizzly, but as you say they have $350 listed as cost. That's half price of a new hardness tester. At $30 I might order and have a spare.
