Diamond wrap alla Blade Rigger?

Any one have instructions on how to produce the diamond wrap seen on JSP customs? I've tried a few versions, but none come out quite right. Also, does any one know what cord and resin he uses (or an alternative that would be durable)? Thanks, E.

I used instructions that appeared in Knives Illustrated a number of years ago, by the great swordsmith Scott Slobodian. Here are the results:

Unfortunately while moving I seem to have lost the instructions that a nice BFC member sent to me!

They'll turn up eventually, but I can't send them along to you right now. Most people who do a cord wrap of this type just mix a regular slow-cure, clear epoxy mix up and coat the handle and cord that way. I left mine with no coating, and I used no glue of any type and it seems pretty durable, although this isn't an everyday-use type of knife! (OAL is around 4"!)

Hey Guys....

Chiro...
Nice job on that wrap....

This was brought up before a few months ago and I was going to ask you about it,,but never did...

Doesn't the cord move around on the handle if you don't fasten it down somehow???

I would think this would be kind of dangerous and understand that the knife isn't a "User"...

Another thing you guys can use on the lace is Fiberglass Resin.. This will make it Wicked hard and should hold up Very well..

Use a little Acetone to thin it out slightly so it will seep down deep...

ttyle Eric..
