I just got this wood handled jack. Very exciting. This is a stamp I don't have in my collection, A.F. Shapleigh Hardware Co. From what I can gather the date range is 1886-1901. There's still a faint etch on the blade, the largest diamond etch I've seen on a D-E! Overall the condition is great considering the age. And best of all it was a gift from a friend! :):thumbsup:

Here's another knife I added to the stable, a pearl whittler. This one is marked Shapleigh Hdwe. I've noticed that the Shapleighs I have which I can attribute to Empire are stamped "HDWE" while the ones that can be attributed to Schrade are stamped "HDW". Based on that assumption, this knife would date 1918-1930.
