Was wondering if anyone knew anything about this knife? I got one in a trade and went to look up info on their site but I guess they are not making these any longer? I have a good collection starting and would like to know how much I should put this one down for insurance purposes. Thanks for any info.

I have an Atkinson lock back too. Its a nice knife. Dick's knives were a value really. He never asked an arm and a leg for them so its probably not worth a bunch. It is more collectible now though since he has retired from knife making.

The last Atkinson folder I saw for sale the guy couldn't give it away and ended up pulling the sale in frustration over at another forum. He had it reduced to $85 and no one bought it so I can't say for sure if that is any kind of a sign or not. As I recall that was after Dick officially retired also. If its mint keep it that way and see what happens I guess. I see Dick's knives as pure users myself. His knives are some of the easiest opening lockbacks I've owned if that is what you happen to have. Its hard not to like it when you can flick it open that easy.

Very nice knives, I have a folder myself. Problem is they are made with 440C, and not real trendy looking. As such they don't cater to niche markets like Tactical or Fancy Art knives. If you want a good using knife though, it serves real well.
