Did a little "plinking" yesterday

This is the 10 22. Hardly tell it from the mini 14 (in pics) except for the mag. It's about 25 years old. Haven't shot it much recently.

i have my dad's old MarkI, learned to shoot on that. good times.

these dayz, they high standard is my .22 of choice - mid 80s gun, but i can hit stuff at 25 and even 50 meters that i couldn't dream of hitting wit ha 9mm or .40. accuracy counts :)

recently acquired a savage .22 bolt action - we're talking dime sized groups at 50 yds without a lot of effort. awesome. 100 yds coming soon this Spring.

for all out fun though, a 50 round magazine on a 522 was a thing of beauty this last Summer. gotta try that again :)

yep that's whats super kewl about .22 you can load up crazy 50rd + mags and go hog wild all day long.... and still have plenty of cash left over for a knife..

I like that standard is it an 8 shot? I've had my mark II for about 15 yrs it will eat any brand ammo I throw at it, its not picky at all and super accurate....

you're so right accuracy counts, we tend to get into caliber wars from time to time but its really all about placement...

it took a little coaxing but my son fired off his very first couple rounds through a ruger 22/45 yesterday.

start 'em young !!

good times for sure.....

It was pretty cool to be there for someone's first shots. The way to do it too, in a controlled, safe, environment with your dad (who just happens to be a trained professional) ... Army.

Good stuff for sure.

Man that is some awesome quality time with the youngster. Savor it, it goes by in a hurry.
