Considering my team looked like the Gerber Bear Grylls and Camillus Les Stroud knives of the NFL, I could really use some good news...

Ok, here goes!!
The 9th drawing will be the winner (just to make sure we've got enough entropy, etc.)

for i in `cat 1000-post-giveaway.list2`; do touch contestents/$i; done
for i in 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9; do randomf.py 1 contestents/; done
"MyWifeThinksImCrazy"

TRAILBUM it is!! And early Beckerhead and fellow New Englander.

PM me your shipping info, dude.
Pix required upon receipt.
I hope you enjoy it - this little thing just slips into a pocket and disappears.
If you don't use it, pass it on to another Beckerhead. ;-)

Thanks for playing, everyone!
(sorry, Ark - I'm gonna play that $250m powerball jackpot with bigger fanaties, but way worse odds)

Rather than create a bunch of files, you could also do:

for i in 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9; do perl -ne 'push @names, $_; END { print $names[int(rand(@names))] }' < 1000-post-giveaway.list2; done

I know, I know... I'm a geek. :-)

Regardless, congrats Trailbum!

Indeed, but I aready had the file selector and really have an aversion to code on the commandline.
Geekiness noted, however. :D
